Mostly I am a stay at home dad at my humble little abode in Wausau, Wisconsin. I do some freelance writing, a lot of blogging and contribute to radio programs to WNRB, a LPFM station hosted by Northcentral Technical College. Like me, my two shows are wildly divergent. I am the editor and host of an environmental newsmagazine called “Earthtones.” I am also the slightly deranged Buffalo Chip that gets “Slap Happy!” every Sunday evening.
You could listen to either or both shows online if you wanted. WNRB’s homepage is here. On the left side of the page is a link to listen online. “Earthtones” is heard 10 am on Wednesdays (Central US time) and “Slap Happy!” is heard Sunday’s from 8 to 10 pm (again, Central US time, your mileage may vary)
This blog is not really going to be about either show. The shows will soon have their own pages on the WNRB website. This blog is about community radio and media in general. I hope to highlight some of what is happening out there and will be looking for ideas that can cross fertilize and strengthen community broadcasting.
